Caroline: Please welcome the very talented big time hottie Jesse L. Martin.
Jesse: Very nice thank you, thank you thank you thank you. (acknowledges audience who stands and applauds)
Jesse: Well here we are
Caroline: Here we are.
Jesse: Finally, I see this woman all over the city but where she works.
Caroline: I know, I'm always like will you please do the show, but you guys have a crazy schedule.
Jesse:People really don't understand that but we do, we got a crazy schedule.
Caroline: I can't even look at you, you're so handsome, I'm like (she laughs)but quite handsome
(she puts up her hand to not look at him jokingly)
(Jesse points at ther smiles and smiles at the audience).
Caroline: You know I saw you in rent.
Jesse: You did?
Caroline Yes and you were absolutely brilliant.
Jesse: You're very sweet.
Caroline: No absolutely brilliant, and I love you in Law and Order and I loved you in Ally McBeal even though you know it didn't work out.
Jesse:Well
Caroline:Do women just stop you on the street and say things to you? When I see you I'm (touches him and giggles).
Jesse:Oh sure they do, uh some of it nice, some of it not nice uh.
Caroline:What would they say that's not nice to you?
Jesse:Well I think they have good intentions but they say some nasty things that I can't even say on TV you know.
Caroline:Really
Jesse:Yeah like I wanna...
Caroline: Oh yeah that kind of stuff
Jesse: Yeah yeah
Caroline: Stuff that they want to do to you?
Jesse: Yeah yeah whic certain times in my life I'd have been like yeah yeah but when you don't know somebody and they're talking to you like that...
Caroline:That's awful, that's not good. I thought they were just gonna say like, I love your smile that kind of thing
Jesse: They do that too.
Caroline: They do that too? there's women out there that say that?
You Know there are never enough magazines that have pictures of celebrities as far as I'm concerned. Have you seen this one "In Touch Weekly"?
Jesse: No no...
Caroline: Well they have the 10 sexiest men. I guess in America and you're on the list buddy. There you go (shows pic)
(Jesse smiles, looks embarassed)
Caroline: You look like you're scratching your boob though. You got a little itch goin on?
Jesse: That's one of those nervous things you do when someone is like be sexy. It's like that scen in...remember Fame when Irene Cara is supposedly having the scree test with the French creepy guy (he imitates it). That's kind of what it feels like. If they just said stand there be yourself, do your thing, you know you could sort of handle that you'd just be yourself.
Caroline: But be sexy.
Jesse: Be sexy, there's no way to do that.
Caroline: I love this quote. What makes a woman sexy? says Jesse Martin "almost everything she does."
Jesse; You know what, and that's true because even when you all do crazy stuff we still take it
Caroline: What do you mean, what kind of crazy stuff?Jesse:Well you know when you can't explain how you feel to us in a way that we would understand it and do exactly what you need us to do um.. that's when it gets crazy and we'll just sit there and look at you like but what do I do? If you really loved me you'd do it and you wouldn't have to ask.
Caroline:Yeah
Jesse:So even that's sexy because eventually you do get around to learning what it is and you do it...
Caroline:I love for a brief moment we were in a relationship there.
Caroline:I says here that you're single and live with a cat named Bob Marley
Jesse:That's partly true, I am still single, ...I don't live with the cat anymore and his name isn't Bob Marley it's just Marley.
Caroline:Okay
Jesse:I lived in this apartment with 5 other dudes rotating too because everybody went off and did their own thing. But this is before I had any money, so we shared this big loft down in Tribeca and we had a cat, and it was the house cat. It actually belonged to my friend Shawn but he went to LA and left the cat. It sort of became my cat because I was the only one who took care of it and now it lives in a house with a friend of mine.
Caroline:Does the cat ever sleep in the bed with you or anything?
Jesse:It used to when I lived there, yeah>MBR> Caroline:Oh, okay.
Jesse:It was actually, it's weird, I had this weird day. I woke up this morning and there was a mouse in the house. You know what I mean and like there's nothing worst than that...like you know it's gonna be a bad day. Like I saw this mouse running around the house and I didn't know what to do. And we were talking about it backstage.
Caroline: You're a policeman for Godsake.
Jesse:That doesn't mean I can catch it. You can't reason with it, you can't interrogate a mouse, but when I had a cat...I didn't have to worry about but the weird thing was our cat Marley would catch a mouse and to show you he was worth living with you he would give it to you. One morning I was dead sleep, and I'm asleep. I ain't got no clothes on (women scream)so the cat's sitting on my chest.
Caroline:Excuse me, pipe down girls I can't hear the story nor can I visualize every detail so stop.(they both laugh)
Jesse:Alright so the cat is sitting on my chest when I wake up which he's done before cause he wants to eat or whatever. I open my eyes and look up and he has this gray thing in his mouth. What is...om my god and the minute I said OMG he dropped it on my chest, and you know you got like dead bleeding mouse on chest, there's nothing worst than that. I'm literally going through the house freaking out got like the heebie jeebies all day long. You;re talking to people randomly and you (jumps).
Caroline:You're having mouse flashbacks. We'll be right back with Jesse L Martin and I'm gonna make him sing.
(COMMERCIAL)
Caroline:So we're playing all that music so JLM will eventually sing.
Jesse:Go ahead, people have no idea what kind of pressure that is ...
Caroline:But you have a gorgeous voice. You sang on Ally McBeal, you sang as an alien on X Files but you have never sung on Law and Order
Jesse:Look at this (picks a piece of paper off his shoe.
Caroline:What happened?
Jesse:It's a piece of paper not toilet paper.
Caroline:Ever since the mouse died on you...What's happening on Law and Order every woman on that show hits on you except S. Epatha Merkerson whose never done that.
Jesse:And that's why we're friends we can actually hang.Wpeaking of which, the Producers gave me a gift for you.
Caroline:They did? Is it a guest appearance on the show where I play a crazy person or something.
Jesse:Kind of. You're gonna love this one look at this
Caroline:And then you'll think I'm sexy. Rmember what you said.
Jesse:It is kind of you on the show. You get the DVD but I want everybody to take a look at the DVD (she's on the cover).
Caroline:Thats so nice.
Jesse: Isn't it!
Caroline:Thank you. Now you really have to get me on. I love it.That is really funny, it's a great show but your dream, basically, you're on this hit show and you're brilliant on it.
Jesse:Yes
Caroline:But you would love to play Marvin Gaye
Jesse:Yes I would. I really really would.(She picks up a picture of Marvin and holds it up next to Jesse) Do you not think he could play him?
(audience claps)
Jesse:It could work, it could work.
Caroline:It could totally work, when you;re in relationships, first of all that would be like my dream to go out with a singer or Beniciio Del Toro either one.
Jesse:I bet he could sing too.
Caroline:Who cares really? Do womena ever make you sing to them?
Jesse:Yes
Caroline:They do?
Jesse:Yes especially in situations like this.
Caroline:And if we were in an acting class and we were playing boyfriend and girlfriend and then I asked you to sing to me what would you sing to me?
Jesse:That's a good one>
CarolineAnd does the band know it? You don't have to sing.
Jesse:Well, how about if I sing a little something and if the band feels like they can chime in a little bit...
Caroline:He has a really beautiful voice, I'm not just crazy, he does have a beautiful voice.

Caroline:I'm having a quiet moment with a guest do not scream "Let's Get It On."
(It was a song)
Caroline:We were getting somewhere buddy.
Jesse:He coughs OMG give me some water. (and says to the bandleader), "I'm not gonna sing that until I'm actually on a film set.
Caroline:(puts on this huge sunglasses)Does it make you nervous? You said it was sexy when we did crazy things.
Jesse:Listen to this.
Jesse SingsHe finishes the little song.
